My entire career has focused on global sustainability and equity issues, and I am eager to bring that passion to work with QNTM’s clients.

I work with teams, organizations, and collaborative alliances — the more diverse the better, and the more the challenge!

We’ve all heard that word “synergy” and how important it is to harness different viewpoints and talents to address today’s wicked problems.

My contribution is to help clients get past diversity’s obstacles and find creative alignment so the magic can begin.

My tools include building trust; appreciating unique perspectives, aspirations and working styles; and creating a shared sense of strategic purpose that all can work towards.

My favorite clients are mission-driven organizations who are generating science- and technology-based innovations to address social problems.

I have worked with international alliances to deliver food security solutions in Africa; with interdisciplinary and interprofessional teams to transform healthcare research and delivery in the U.S.; and with a six-campus university system in Mexico to align academic priorities with on-the-ground impact.

My background is as diverse as my passions. I have a B.A. in Economics & Political Science, an M.Sc. in Education and International Agriculture, and doctoral studies in Organization Development.

I think of this as training in top-down, bottom-up, and middle-out transformation – truly whole-systems change management.

I worked for 20 years in international agricultural R&D; taught sustainable business and organizational change management at BA & MBA levels for 15 years; and have worked directly with teams and organizations since 2005.

I have been an avid member of the global “Science of Team Science” community since 2012.

I’ve always been an avid reader, but in the last five years I’ve become a big sci-fi fan in particular.

Both the dystopian writers and the alternative world-builders help me imagine creative and destructive ways humans and other sentient beings might go about figuring things out.

WHO

I work with high-tech, often visionary leaders at senior management and board level to generate innovative breakthroughs in and around their organizations, frequently involving the creation of synergies between coalitions of organizations developing “the next big thing”. This includes intrapreneurs and entrepreneurs who want game changing results, public service administrators as well as social innovators seeking to scale their beneficial impacts at speed.

WHAT 

The kind of challenges I enjoy most are situations where there is a large gap between the ambitions of a leadership team, and the situation their organization/s find themselves in. I’m inspired when aligning strong personalities around coherent strategic agendas, unblocking choke points, incubating big ideas, and developing irresistible, implementable roadmaps that deliver rapid results for their teams and organizations.

HOW 

The key to my work in 37 countries on four continents with hundreds of the world’s leading organizations has been the ability to co-design projects that are tailor made for the specific challenge involved, along with the generation of strategic insights that create both competitive and collaborative advantage. Since 1990 I’ve co-developed dozens of incredibly powerful proprietary tools for change, learning and transformation that are described in my eight award winning books and hundreds of articles.
